I always thought "riding the porcelain bus" was for vomiting, although in that context it's clearer as "driving the porcelain bus", with the implication that the toilet seat is the steering wheel, which you would be gripping whilst vomiting into it.

Maybe riding is different and appropriate for pooing, but I don't think it's as effective as that for vomiting.
