"When no direction is stated for an accent shift, it is assumed that the shift is from rising in the [infinitive] to falling in the other specified forms (always including the present tense) or from rising on a non-initial syllable to rising one syllable closer to the beginning of the word. Where a particular form does not exist for the model, a corresponding form for a related verb is given in brackets."

Type 1 (gledati/гледати)

  • imperative -j with preceding vowel lengthened
  • passive participle suffix -an with geminate vowel
  • the accent can remain on the same syllable in all forms of the word, or it can shift in the present tense (except 3pl.), imperfect, and passive participle
  • dati, znati, imati with additional "simplex" type 13 forms;
    • dati has additional type 7 present tense forms (-ne-), its aorist is formed as type 13 (-o- before -h, but -e in 2-3sg.), and it has additional type 6 (-n) passive participle
    • znati and imati have additional type 13 aorist forms (-o- before -h, but -e in 2-3sg.)
    • "two of these verbs can also take passive participle forms after type 6, either as a variant (prodat vs. prodan) or as the only form (poznat)"
