Not to rain on your parade but it would seem that the suggested process is probably not a good idea.

  1. "Perfect is the enemy of good enough", users can quickly reach a satisfactory definition, but even two perfectionists are unlikely to ever reach an agreement on a perfect definition.
  2. The communication and coordination requirements increases exponentially with the number of participants.
  3. Wikimedia is not suited for merging concurrent edits.
  4. Wiktionary has rigidly requirement has well established standards. This allows people to contribute
  5. Based on word distribution statistic (Ziphs laws AKA long tail) almost all words require very short definitions.
