It is recommended that all pictures be uploaded to Commons. However, it is still possible for sysops to upload images purely under Wiktionary's namespace. This can be done by going to Special:Upload and following the directions. Sysops can also see deleted images added after June 2006.
Non-free images are allowed to be uploaded under the Wiktionary namespace under the non-free content criteria guidelines.
All media uploaded locally can be found at Category:Wiktionary files.
