Wiktionary:Tracking

This page is the base for tracking pages. These are pages used internally to track pages with certain properties. A given page is added to a tracking page by calling require("Module:debug/track")(<var>page</var>), which causes the tracking page Wiktionary:Tracking/page to be transcluded into given page. In other words, examining the pages that the tracking page links to will show the tracked page.

For example, the {{inflection of}} template tracks all uses of individual tags. To see all uses of a tag such as fut, visit the page Wiktionary:Tracking/inflection of/tag/fut (which generally won't exist) and click on "See whether another page links to" the page. Equivalently, visit Special:WhatLinksHere/Wiktionary:Tracking/inflection of/tag/fut.

NOTE: The tracking pages themselves generally won't exist.

The particular tracking pages in use change fairly frequently, and many of them are used only temporarily. Generally, you can only detect a given tracking page by looking at the code that enables it. That said, the following is a partial list of some of the tracking pages as of 2024-04-08:

Inflection tags edit

Inflection tags: Wiktionary:Tracking/inflection of/tag/TAG, e.g. Wiktionary:Tracking/inflection of/tag/pres for the pres tag.

Quote modules edit

Pages that use a given parameter in {{quote-*}}: Wiktionary:Tracking/quote/param/PARAM e.g. Wiktionary:Tracking/quote/param/author for |author=.

Category pages edit

Category pages that use the poscatboiler or topic cat subsystems: Wiktionary:Tracking/auto cat/poscatboiler, Wiktionary:Tracking/auto cat/topic cat.

Links edit

Links specified using fragments or data.fragment cause the page to go in Wiktionary:Tracking/links/fragment as well as a lang-specific subpage such as Wiktionary:Tracking/links/fragment/en.
If embedded wikilinks are specified along with data.alt, the page goes in Wiktionary:Tracking/links/alt-ignored.
If embedded wikilinks are specified along with data.id, the page goes in Wiktionary:Tracking/links/id-ignored.
If a redundant wikilink is specified, the page goes in Wiktionary:Tracking/links/redundant wikilink.
If manual transliteration is specified, the page goes in Wiktionary:Tracking/links/manual-tr, as well as a lang-specific subpage such as Wiktionary:Tracking/links/manual-tr/he.

Headwords edit

Pages with manual transliteration in headwords are placed in Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/has-manual-translit as well as lang-specific subpages such as Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/has-manual-translit/ru for Russian.
If data.nolink or part.nolink are specified, the page is placed in Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/nolink.
If a category specified using data.categories doesn't begin with the language name, the page is placed in Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/no lang category and a lang-specific subpage such as Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/no lang category/ru.
If the part of speech in data.pos_category is unrecognized, the page is placed in Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/unrecognized pos and Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/unrecognized pos/POS for the part of speech POS, as well as lang-specific subpages Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/unrecognized pos/LANG and Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/unrecognized pos/POS/LANG.
If data.force_cat_output is specified, the page is placed in Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/force cat output.
If the page is in the mainspace and the headword specified using |head=, |head2=, etc. doesn't match the pagename the page is placed in Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/pagename spelling mismatch and a lang-specific subpage such as Wiktionary:Tracking/headword/pagename spelling mismatch/ru.

Template:place edit

Places will be linked to Wiktionary:Tracking/place/entry-placetype/PLACETYPE for all entry placetypes seen; in addition, if PLACETYPE has qualifiers (e.g. 'small city'), there will be links for the bare placetype minus qualifiers and separately for the qualifiers themselves:
