  4.   The vote doesn't make clear (and I'm sorry I noticed this only now) who will have the power to set and unset the flood flag. Assuming that only admins (or only bureaucrats, or only admins and patrollers) will have those powers, I vote in support.—msh210 19:11, 10 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Actually, I really wish this proposal were clearer. We're seeking a new user group with which rights precisely? bot? autopatrol? noratelimit? skipcaptcha? apihighlimits? And, then, who will have the right (technical power, not permission) to add and remove people from that group? admins? b'rats? admins and parollers? I don't mind any of the options I've listed (except the 'bot' right, as I have no idea what it does precisely, but I assume I don't mind it, either), which is why I'm voting in support, but.—msh210 18:37, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
FWIW, Simetrical has informed me that the 'bot' right is the right to mark edits as bot edits, which can then be not seen in recentchanges, on watchlists, etc.—msh210 20:05, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My understanding is that should this vote pass, the usergroup "Flood" which has the right "Be treated as an automated process (bot)" will be added, and the "Administrator" user group will have Add group: Flood, and Remove group: Flood added. --Yair rand 20:12, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
So then, are user-groups "flood" and "bot" technically equivalent, differing only in their semantics? —RuakhTALK 21:04, 12 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No, the bot group has more rights than just the bot right. See [[special:listgrouprights]].—msh210 16:14, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Oh! That makes perfect sense, but is also incredibly confusing. :-P   Thanks for clarifying. :-)   —RuakhTALK 19:03, 13 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  1.   Abstain Can't you just mark edits as minor, and then if someone doesn't want to see minor edits they can hide them? — [ R·I·C ] opiaterein12:49, 14 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
