      The bones of strange amphibians known as albanerpetonids (sic), and the ancestors of the midwife toads, which are among the most ancient of European creatures, have been recovered, as have the bones of python-like snakes known as matsoiids, terrestrial crocodiles with serrated teeth, legless lizards, ancestral skink-like creatures, and whiptail lizards.
