- 1901 May 24, “Dairying in Australia”, in The Agricultural Journal and Mining Record‎^[1], volume 4, number 6, page 176:
  "Biestings," or milk from newly-calved cows, should not be sent to the factory or creamery, nor separated till after the eighth milking.
