Swedish
editEtymology
editInherited from Old Swedish bölmeyrt. Compound of bolma (unkown) + ört (“herb”). The meaning of bolma in this case is unknown.[1] Possibly related to Welsh bilinuntia and Belenus.[2] See also lake Bolmen whose etymology may be derived from Old Swedish *bolmber (“large; expansive”).
