From Old Anatolian Turkish کیجه (gejä), Proto-Turkic *kēče (“night, evening, yesterday”).[1] Cognite with Turkish gece (“night”), Turkmen gije, Crimean Tatar gece, Tatar кичә (kiçä, “yesterday”), Uyghur كەچە (keche), Kazakh кеш (keş, “evening”), Kyrgyz кеш (keş, “evening, late”).
