Asplenium viride

Etymology

edit

From groen (green) +‎ steel (stem). The plant owes its name to its bright green color in all parts of the plant, which distinguishes it from various other Asplenium ferns which it resembles, particularly Asplenium trichomanes (steenbreekvaren, that is, maidenhair spleenwort). Whereas the latter has a black stem, Asplenium viride has a green stem.
