hringaná
Icelandic
editEtymology
editFrom hringar (“rings (jewellery)”) + Ná, an alternative spelling of Gná, the name of a Norse goddess. Jewellery is often utilized when creating kennings about women.
Only used in Jónas Hallgrímsson's poem Hættu að gráta hringaná, the title thus meaning "Don't cry, dear girl".
