Etymology edit

Named after iotacism, shifting the pronunciation of the name of letter η (eta) from /ɛːta/ to /ita/ in Greek.

      At [Revelation] 2:25 the family reading is αχρις ου ανοιξω [until I open], instead of αχρις ου αν ηξω [until I come]. Not only is ανοιξω unintelligible here, but it is a transparent itacism οι for η.
