  1. (archaic, slang) A banknote of high denomination.
    • 1924, Richard Hill, The Maungatapu Mountain Murders, page 65:
      He said these people were going to leave with two other men on the Tuesday for the West Coast. That he saw a good deal of money with one person of the four and some "long tailed ones."
