- vendace, Coregonus albula (Eurasian species of fish in the Salmonidae family)
- Used also of some closely related North-American Coregonus species called cisco, usually as part of a compound term as in amerikanmuikku (“Coregonus artedi”).
Usage notes
editWith the exception of Coregonus albula the Eurasian fish of the genus Coregonus are usually called siika (“whitefish”) in Finnish. The usage concerning North-American species is variable.
