Etymology

From Latin ēricius (“hedgehog”). Cognate with Italian riccio. Doublet of rizza.

   fari comu lu rizzu ― to deceive with humble manners, to then betray or assault (literally, “to act like the hedgehog”)

2. sea urchin (Echinoidea, particularly Echinus esculentus)
