Etymology edit
From shkoj, literally described as a 'walking tree', with a similar sense development to bredh.[1] Possibly cognate to Old English scaga (“bush”). Alternatively from *shkor- + -zë, the former the base of shkorre and the latter a collective suffix. More at shkorre.
