   • 1902 September, Howard Nott Potter, “Stable Planning”, in The Architectural Review, volume 9, number 9, page 150:

     This plan is satisfactory with the exception of stall arrangement; six instead of four horses could be accommodated, four straight stalls on one side, two boxes opposite, and a through draft would then be obtained over the horses' heads.

   • 2010, Avril Pyman, Pavel Florensky: A Quiet Genius, page 20:

     This room looked out through large windows over the usual railed gangway onto a courtyard with enormous acacia trees and, on hot summer nights, he obtained a through draft by sleeping with door and windows wide open.

     The open ends helped season the timber with a through draft, although it was a noticeable few degrees colder in the shed than outside in the sun and the draft always seemed to be on the back of your neck!
