τρελαίνω (trelaíno) (past τρέλανα, passive τρελαίνομαι)

  1. (transitive, more likely to be seen in the passive) to madden, drive insane, drive crazy (cause someone to go insane)

    Oi empeiríes tou ston pólemo ton trélanan.
    His experiences of war drove him insane.
  2. (transitive, colloquial, figuratively) to madden, drive insane, create a stir (annoy, bother or stir someone greatly)

    This dog has driven us mad!
