χαράδρα
Ancient Greek
editAlternative forms
editEtymology
editThe older connection with χαράσσω (kharássō, “to sharpen, to whet”) must be given up. Related to χέραδος (khérados, “debris, gravel”) and thus probably from Pre-Greek, in view of the variation.
