Borrowed from Old Church Slavonic ничто́же сꙋмнѧ́щесѧ (ničtóže sumnę́štesę); an expression used in several New Testament passages, including 1 Cor. 10:25 and 10:27 (corresponding to “asking no question” in King James Version) and James 1:6 (corresponding to “nothing wavering” in King James Version).
