Etymology edit

Suffixed verb from the root կոր- (kor-) +‎ -նչ- (-nčʻ-). The root is of unknown origin.

Verb edit

կորնչիմ (kornčʻim)  (aorist indicative կորեայ)

  1. (intransitive) to be lost, to disappear
    կորեաւ յիշատակ իմkoreaw yišatak imall memory of me was lost
    կորեաւ յոյս իմkoreaw yoys immy hopes have vanished
    կորի՛ր յերեսաց իմոցkorír yeresacʻ imocʻget you gone, be gone!
  2. (intransitive) to perish, to decay, to be destroyed
    կորնչել սովամահkornčʻel sovamahto die of starvation, to be starved to death; to be dying of hunger
  3. (intransitive) to lose one's way, to lose oneself, to go astray, to err
  4. (intransitive) to go to ruin, to ruin oneself
