Etymology edit

From სქ-ელი (sk-eli, thick) +‎ სი- -ე (si- -e, abstract noun-forming circumfix).

As often occurs with this circumfix, its addition led to the loss of the adjective ending -ელი (-eli). The full form სისქელე (siskele) is also attested.

Pronunciation edit

  • IPA(key): /siskʰe/
  • Hyphenation: სის‧ქე

Noun edit

სისქე (siske) (uncountable)

  1. thickness
