      Etymology

      From 暗黒舞踏 (あんこくぶとう, ankoku butō, dark dance) = 暗黒 (あんこく, ankoku, dark, darkness) + 舞踏 (ぶとう, butō, dance), from 暗黒舞踊 (あんこくぶよう, ankoku buyō, darkness dance), by replacing 舞踊 (ぶよう, buyō, (classical Japanese) dance) with the archaic 舞踏 (ぶとう, butō, dance).[1]
