Etymology edit

First attested in the Worin seokbo (月印釋譜 / 월인석보), 1459, as Middle Korean 그ᅀᅳᆨᄒᆞ다〮 (Yale: kùzùk-hòtá). From Old Korean 密只 (*KUSUk-), equivalent to modern 그윽 (geueuk) +‎ 하다 (-hada, to do, light verb deriving adjectives).
