  • This one-handed ASL sign is produced as follows:
    1. Posture the dominant hand in the “S” handshape within a couple of inches from the base (elbow end) of the nondominant forearm, dominant palm facing up.
    2. Move the hand back and forth, toward and away from the base of the forearm.
    3. Posture the dominant hand in the “S” handshape at the base (elbow end) of the nondominant forearm, dominant palm facing up.
  • When used as a verb, there is just one movement toward the arm instead of a repeated movement back and forth.
