Seems reasonable - but, just to be sure that it is not a protologism. SemperBlotto (talk) 10:20, 28 August 2014 (UTC)Reply

I find precisely two arguably independent hits:
  • 1994, Jean-Noël Kapferer, Strategic Brand Management: New Approaches to Creating and Evaluating Brand Equity, page 273
Mars is a product with unique qualities — a brand-product, or "branduct" (Swiners, 1979).
  • 2013, Patrick Bouchet, ‎Dieter Hillairet, ‎Guillaume Bodet, Sport Brands, page 158:
A product which represents an entire category is named a ‘branduct’ (Kapferer, 2008), a portmanteau term made ofbrand and product.
In both cases, the word is surrounded by quotes and qualified by a definition. Note that I can not find the "Swiners, 1979" reference, and do not know if it uses this term at all, or merely describes a brand-product. I would call this a fail. bd2412 T 19:18, 9 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

Return to "branduct" page.
