Emergency services slang?

An IP added this:

an overenthusiastic amateur in emergency services (volunteer fire, police, EMT) fixated on the “style” who seeks to be “authoritative” or claim exaggerated importance more than actually helping out in a situation. Known for excessively collecting gear, uniforms and vehicles needed to look official.

It has since been reverted. The phrasing needs work, but it seems legitimate based on a Web search. Equinox ◑ 18:22, 31 March 2021 (UTC)
