Example of usage edit

Can be used if fantizi and jiantizi are different, both forms are needed and pinyin in brackets.

{{zh-tsp|中國|中国|Zhōngguó}} produces: trad. 中國中国 (Zhōngguó), simpl. 中国 (Zhōngguó) (pinyin: Zhōngguó)

Bad template; template {{t}} should be used, as it links properly, with the proper code corrections, and will be updated by Tbot, etc.

Also it encourages the improper use of "Chinese" as a language name (the inclusion of pinyin shows clearly that what is intended is "Mandarin", not "Chinese" in general).

There are a number of entries that need to be cleaned up, with "Chinese" changed to Mandarin and the format corrected to standard. Robert Ullmann 13:24, 20 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

keep. No mentioning of the unrelated issue of Mandarin vs Chinese in the template. Provides user with traditional, simplified and pinyin. Anatoli 13:18, 23 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
keep but move to {{cmn-tsp}}, like {{yue-tsj}} (traditional, simplified, jyutping) since I'm fairly sure that only Mandarin uses Hanyu Pinyin... — [ R·I·C ] opiaterein13:28, 25 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Kept. Mglovesfun (talk) 13:17, 25 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Spaces missing edit

There appear to be missing spaces in this template, visible at thực đơn--a space missing after the comma that separates traditional from simplified, and another missing before the open parenthesis. 71.66.97.228 06:12, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

It looks better to me now. --Anatoli 06:18, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes! You are very quick. 71.66.97.228 06:27, 21 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Kept for no consensus in December 2009. I'd love to know what this does that {{t}} doesn't have. If {{t}} doesn't have it, delete this and add what is necessary to {{t}}, {{t+}} and {{t-}}. Mglovesfun (talk) 15:16, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Firstly, it's not for translations, secondly, it is used show both Fantizi and Jiantizi together, e.g. {{zh-tsp|華僑|华侨|Huáqiáo}} (looks trad. 華僑华侨 (huáqiáo), simpl. 华侨 (huáqiáo) (pinyin: Huáqiáo)) you can check by what links here. I find it useful for etymology sections where the source is Chinese. --Anatoli 04:02, 1 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
I requested adding trad. and simpl. to {{t}} but it must be hard. So translations use {{t}} twice. Template:zh-tsp doesn't link to FL wiki though. So both have their separate usages. I would use Template:zh-tsp in any place at Wiktionary where you need to link to all three important parts - traditional characters, simplified characters and (toned) Pinyin. --Anatoli 04:07, 1 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, I agree that it shouldn't be in translation tables. How to put languages that have multiple scripts in translations tables is quite a tough one. A template like {{cmn-t}} would be alright, I know how to do that and Tbot could be taught to update it - all updating really means is changing the colour of the links link (fr). Mglovesfun (talk) 14:50, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Or should we just put on Template:zh-tsp/doc not to use it in translations, only elsewhere, such as synonym/related terms sections. Mglovesfun (talk) 16:54, 12 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
No consensus, striking. Mglovesfun (talk) 20:07, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Not true; it's still used in old talk pages. We'll have to deal with that before deleting the template (and its redirect {{zh-tsp}}). — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 23:52, 16 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung, any interest in dealing with it? If not, we can just leave it be. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 12:45, 4 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Metaknowledge: I've removed all transclusions except the one in the documentation. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 02:04, 5 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
