Hello, welcome to Wiktionary, and thank you for your contribution so far. Here are a few good links for newcomers:

• How to edit a page is a concise list of technical guidelines to the wiki format we use here: how to, for example, make text boldfaced or create hyperlinks. Feel free to practice in the sandbox. If you would like a slower introduction we have a short tutorial.
• Entry layout explained (ELE) is a detailed policy documenting how Wiktionary pages should be formatted. All entries should conform to this standard, the easiest way to do this is to copy exactly an existing page for a similar word.
• Our Criteria for inclusion (CFI) define exactly which words Wiktionary is interested in including, there is also a list of things that Wiktionary is not for a higher level overview.
• The FAQ aims to answer most of your remaining questions, and there are several help pages that you can browse for more information.
• We have discussion rooms in which you can ask any question about Wiktionary or its entries, a glossary of our technical jargon, and some hints for dealing with the more common communication issues.

Etymology in non-English entries

Hi there. You need to add a second language parameter when using the {{etyl}} template in the etymologies of non-English words e.g. {{etyl|non|fo}} so that the correct category is used (in this case Faroese words derived from Icelandic). Cheers. SemperBlotto 17:32, 3 January 2010 (UTC)

Userpage

Hi there MrGulli. I think it would be best if you were to create a userpage and add some babel userboxes that tell which languages you are proficient in, we would be able to know which languages you are capable of editing in. Translation tables

I undid your revision to Odense because the page is for a Danish word, and translation tables are only added to English words. (The definition should be like a translation to English. Other than that, you're good. :) Ultimateria 00:54, 8 January 2010 (UTC)

Vertu hjartanlega velkominn. Mikið svakalega er gott að sjá annan Íslending bætast í hópinn. Vildi annars láta þig vita að í þýðingartöflunum (við ensk orð) á venjulega aðeins að koma fram uppflettimynd orðs; t.d. við lýsingarorðið Spanish á aðeins að koma þýðingin spænskur (einnig án þess að geta kyns, nema hugsanlega ef aðeins eitt kemur til greina við notkun orðsins), en beygingarmyndir orðsins koma svo fram í þess eigin grein. Einnig er venjan að búa ekki til fulla grein um beygingarmyndir (eins og þú gerðir við íslenskt), heldur aðeins segja hvaða beygingarmynd það er og af hvaða orði (sjá þína gerð og breytingu mína).
