AWB

Good day. Some comments on your use of the AWB. It moved some categories to the bottom of a page, whilst they belonged at the end of the section, e.g. at far. Usually, we have them ordered in their appropriate language section here. Also, what kind of Unicode fixes are those? Beware that we sometimes use different apostrophes than the normal ASCII ones. Vild, that isn't quite right, according to this (nor according to the previous discussions I recall on the topic.) A category applies to an entire page, not a section, so to make them easier to find/correct, they are supposed to be at the end (right before interwikis.)

The only reason we haven't pursued these corrections in the past, is because we did not have a tool available that would do it. I am delighted that I can scratch this off my "monobook.js" todo list, now that a better solution exists. --Connel MacKenzie T C 16:33, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

Shortly, it is a browser of wikis that allows you automatically replace words, fix formatting, etc... a bit quicker than by hand because it can load lists of articles (it helps with a lot of other editing, see the link above). It is not a bot in that users can see the diff changes they are doing and then they can select SAVE or make some other edits in the same way an edit box does.

Auto subst: {{temp|gstr}} please. But with extreme caution, as they were 'bot added and have some crazy things going on. The template changed several times during the bot loading and still is no where near acceptable for Wiktionary. --Connel MacKenzie T C 06:56, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

AWB

I like the concept, but not what it is doing. Looking at some of the Greek pages you have entered/converted, the format is different from the one usually used here, and the pronounciations are given using non-standard methods. Can you check the pages on formatting and pronunciation and then clean the pages up, please? — Paul G 10:50, 11 April 2006 (UTC)

That's ok , it didn't bother me at all. As a matter of fact, it was actually my own fault. I should have put up a huge notice with some detail about the testing that was doing. I'll work on that later before I do another trial run.

I came up with a way to do it without the links being full wikilinks. Let me know if that is what you wanted done.

I can import them to take a look but they need to be in an [[articlefoobar]] format instead of a full url. One of the main reasons is if AWB grabbed urls like that off of pages, it would also import urls that are in the navigation box, toolbox, as well as the tab urls at the top of every page.
