Etymology edit
From Ottoman Turkish بلاقید و شرط, from Arabic بِلَا (bilā, “without”), قَيْد (qayd, “restraint”), شَرْط (šarṭ, “condition”). Appeared as a set phrase c. 1920. In modern use replaced by kayıtsız şartsız.
