  2. (takes a reflexive pronoun, intransitive) to turn blue
    • 1908, Juli Vallmitjana, Sota Monjuic:
      La llum moradenca de l'aubada va emblavint-se, els fanalers apaguen la groguenca claror dels fanals, i a mida que s'aclareix el dia van detallant-se més els objectes.
      The purplish light of dawn turned blue, the lamplighters extinguished the yellowish glow of the streetlights, and to the degree that the day grew lighter objects became more detailed.
