- (transitive) to remove leaves/petals from, to thin
- (takes a reflexive pronoun) to lose leaves/petals

- Darrera el balcó les branques s'esfullaven; les fulles queien lentament, com si fossin el plor dels arbres.
- Behind the balcony the branches were losing their leaves; the leaves fell slowly, as if they were the tears of the trees.
