Etymology edit

Inherited from Latin expellere, with normal change of conjugation to -ir. Doublet of expel·lir, a learned borrowing.

  1. (intransitive) to open (of flowers)

      Everything has a meaning, Jordi: the wind that whistles, the bell that tolls, the flowers that bloom, the kisses that are given.
