From Ancient Greek ὑγιεινή (hugieinḗ) τέχνη (tékhnē) (art of health), from ὑγιεινός (hugieinós, “of health, good for the health, wholesome, sound, healthy”), from ὑγιής (hugiḗs, “healthy, sound”).
