      The laser is also used to engrave a 63 μm-thick double-side adhesive tape (8018PT; 3M Corp, Maplewood, MN) to carve out the borders surrounding the microfluidic patterns on the PMMA. The microtrenched patterns and microstructures on the PMMA slide were drawn using CorelDraw (Corel, Ottawa, Canada) and then transferred to the laser scriber for direct machining on the substrate.
