From Malay mohor, from Persian مهر (mohr), from Middle Persian, 𐫖𐫇𐫍𐫡 (mwhr /muhr/, “seal”), from Proto-Indo-Iranian *mitra (“covenant, treaty, agreement, promise”). Doublet of mahar and mitra.
