From na- + żreć. First attested in 1666.[1] Compare Czech nažrat, Kashubian narżéc, Russian нажра́ть/нажра́ться (nažrátʹ), Silesian nażrać, and Ukrainian наже́рти/наже́ртися (nažérty).
