      As long as your bitmap is paletted, most programs will reduce the palette down to the fewest colors. However, it may be a good idea to help it along by changing the bit depth to the lowest possible.

      Unfortunately, the Intel 2700G provides no hardware support for compressed paletted textures. If compressed paletted textures are used, they are internally expanded to their uncompressed representation.
