Ancient Greek πάροδος (párodos, “entrance”), from παρα- (para-) + ὁδός (hodós, “path, road”).

- A side entrance to an Ancient Greek theater, affording access to the stage or orchestra.
- The ode sung by the chorus as it enters the orchestra, typically following the play's prologue.
