varustamo
Finnish edit
Etymology edit
From varustaa (“to equip, furnish”) + -mo, which in principle could refer to any organization which equips or a place used for equipping something. In practice it has become to refer to shipowners or shipping companies, originally with modifier laivan (“ship's”).
