From Proto-Albanian *webnja, from Proto-Indo-European *webʰ- (“to weave”).[1] Cognate with Sanskrit उनब्द्धि (unábddhi, “to bind, compress”), Old High German weban (“to weave”), Tocharian B wāp- (“to weave”).
