zalcitabine (countable and uncountable, plural zalcitabines)
- (pharmacology) A drug C9H13N3O3 which inhibits the replication of HIV and is formerly used in the treatment of AIDS, especially in combination with zidovudine. It is a synthetic analog of a pyrimidine nucleoside, acting as a reverse transcriptase inhibitor.
