Unknown. Apparently equivalent to Ancient Greek θάλασσαν (thálassan), according to Hesychius of Alexandria.

According to the DGE, it is more likely to be Pre-Greek than Ancient Macedonian. See Ancient Greek θάλασσα (thálassa) for more info.
