  2. (after nominative) Used to form an ordinal numeral from the original cardinal

Usage notes edit

Contrasted with -дугаар (-dugaar) and -дүгээр (-dügeer), дахь and дэх (dex) are used for cardinals in a more temporal sequence, e.g. гурав дахь сар (gurav daxʹ sar, the third month) vs гуравдугаар сар (guravdugaar sar, March); хоёр дахь үүд (xojor daxʹ üüd, the second door [passing]) vs хоёрдугаар үүд (xojordugaar üüd, door [number] two), etc.
