editInherited from Bulgar [script needed] (altmıl, “sixty”),[1] itself inherited from Proto-Turkic *altmïĺ (“sixty”),[2][3] equivalent to улттӑ (ulttă, “six”) + -мӑл (-măl).
Cognate with Khalaj altmış, Turkish altmış, Uzbek oltmish and Bashkir алтмыш (altmış).
