Etymology edit

Ačaṙyan leaves the origin of the word open. According to J̌ahukyan, borrowed from an unknown Iranian source, probably descended from Proto-Indo-European *kʷer- (a kind of dish or pot); compare Sanskrit चरु (carú-, kinde of vessel, pot). See Pokorny for this root.
