חַטָּאת (khatátf

  1. A sin.
    • Tanach, Genesis 18:20, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:
Verily, the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and, verily, their sin is exceeding grievous.
  2. A sin offering.
    • Tanach, Exodus 29:14, with translation of the Jewish Publication Society:
But the flesh of the bullock, and its skin, and its dung, shalt thou burn with fire without the camp; it is a sin-offering.
