editUncertain, seemingly a wanderwort for a vaguely identified medicinally used plant; cognate with Classical Syriac ܬܢܘܡ (tannūm, “cannabis sativa”) and Egyptian tnm (tenemu, “plant used in medicine”) mentioned as a good brought from the Wadi Natrun region in the popular work The Eloquent Peasant.
