Uncertain, seemingly a wanderwort for a vaguely identified medicinally used plant; cognate with Classical Syriac ܬܢܘܡ (tannūm, cannabis sativa) and Egyptian tnm (tenemu, plant used in medicine) mentioned as a good brought from the Wadi Natrun region in the popular work The Eloquent Peasant.
